The history of systematic white racism and its ongoing effects on black communities and African American lives is a difficult one that is hard for most of us to make sense of. In other words, if we actually took the time to study, most of us could use some help in understanding our feelings about it. Before there was Joy DeGruy, there was Francis Cress Welsing and Asa Hilliard III. Unfortunately, Dr. Hilliard passed some years ago. He was a psychologist, an historian, university professor and author who looked at many aspects of Black history and analyzed it for psychological implications and effects in ways I have found insightful and beneficial. This interview was hidden in the vault in plain sight and is well worth the time to watch it.
